Syndication Ratings For New Sci-Fi Series

Ratings are starting to come in from the syndication market for the new shows this year. Ratings for syndicated shows have been steadily sliding for years, but this years numbers look similar to last years.

Stargate Atlantist scored a 1.7 rating for its first syndicated episode Rising, Part 1. That’s in line with the ratings that Stargate SG-1 managed last year in syndication. Since both SG-1 and Atlantis air on FOX, they tend to do badly during October while the baseball playoffs are happening. Stargate SG-1 averaged a 2.0 rating last year, but its first 4 episodes only did 1.7.

Other new sci-fi shows in the syndication market include Alias which managed an impressive 2.5 rating and Smallville with a decent 1.7 rating. Star Trek: Enterprise continued its trend of underperforming by achieving a meager 1.2 rating for its syndicated debut.
