For your amusement I present to you a short list of the most annoying robots in Science Fiction. Consider this a friendly tribute to the camp nature of many sci-fi movies and shows. You’ll notice none of them come from written science fiction where robots have been treated much better. Let me know if I missed anyone off the list.

In news that vindicates my reluctance to either post Doctor Who spoilers or further update the episode guide, it seems that The Sci Fi Channel will be airing the second season of Doctor Who here in the US this year.

The official Doctor Who website has put several new Doctor Who desktop wallpaper’s online. All the new images are taken from the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special, The Christmas Invasion. There are images of the Doctor (David Tennant), Rose (Billie Piper), Mickie, Jackie, and some rather menacing looking mechanical Santas.

There’s also some rather cool Christmas themed images. I particularly like the Christmas TARDIS and have made it my desktop wallpaper…

Russell T Davies is set to write a new science fiction thriller for BBC Three. Torchwood will be a thirteen part drama series aimed at an adult audience. Davies describes the show as a British sci-fi paranoid thriller, a cop show with a sense of humor. He went on to say it was X-Files meets This Life (a reference that probably only British readers will get).
