The Sci Fi Channel has just given the go ahead for another original series. Eureka is about an apparently ordinary town with residents who lead extraordinary lives. SciFi’s initial order is for a two hour pilot and 11 further episodes of the show. Eureka will star Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Greg Germann, Joe Morton, Debrah Farentino, Maury Chaykin, Matt Frewer and Jordan Hinson.

I was fortunate enough to be given a copy of the Battlestar Galactica Season One DVD set for review. Thats right, its a review copy so I didn’t pay. Just in the interests of full disclosure. I say fortunate, not just because I was given it, but because the new Battlestar Galactica is an awesome series and this DVD set is equally awesome.

ABC’s new science fiction series Invasion. Judging by the look of the pilot episode, this is a big budget affair. The hurricane scenes were impressive as were the opening scenes with a plane flying into the eye of the storm. It’s hard to come to any real conclusions about this series based on just this episode though.

The SciFi Channel’s mid-season finale for Stargate SG-1 was a pretty blatant cramming together of two stand-alone episodes. They weren’t even related storywise so it seemed kind of silly really. However looked at simply as two episodes running back to back, they were both pretty decent.
Prototype didn’t really have anything to do with the season 9 storyarc, but it did call on some older Stargate SG-1 history. Think of it…
