The first half of season 9 of Stargate SG-1 is drawing to a close, but the second half of the season will kick off during January 2006, as is usual for Sci Fi Channel with its original series. Sci-Fi Heaven has posted a news item about the fact that K-9 will be appearing in an episode of the second season of the BBC’s new series of Doctor Who. That will mark the robot dog’s first appearance on the series in 24 years. K-9 was originally introduced part way through Tom Baker’s run as the Doctor and appeared between 1977 and 1981.

Stargate SG-1’s ratings held up for the second episode of season 9. Avalon Part 2 (the second part of a three part premiere) earned a 2.1 household rating and 2.6 million viewers. Atlantis did not fair quite so well though with The Intruder earning a 2.0 rating which is a 10% drop from the previous week.
