Christopher Nolan is apparently close to signing a deal to direct a movie version of the classic 60s British television series The Prisoner. The movie will be based on a scrip by Janet and David Peoples.

It seems that Sam Raimi who is currently best known for directing the Spider-Man movies has secured the rights to create a TV mini-series out of best selling author Terry Goodkind’s fantasy series Sword of Truth. Production on Wizards First Rule, the first book in Goodkind’s series, will begin in 2007 and mini-series based on the subsequent volumes in the seemingly never ending series will follow.

SciFi Wire has announced that the Sci Fi Channel’s original drama series Battlestar Galactica will be getting an extended episode for the season 2 finale which will be broadcast on March 10th 2006 at 10pm ET/PT.

Looks like another of the sci-fi shows that debuted at the beginning of this season is about to bite the dust. This time round it’s Surface which looks to be in serious trouble.
