The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Production Begins January 07
News of some forward movement in the Chronicles of Narnia sequels. It seems that The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian will start shooting this January somewhere in the forests of Europe. Prince Caspian is scheduled for a Summer 2008 release so there should be plenty of time for the heavy post production that a film like this needs.
Prince Caspian will once again star William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes and Georgie Henley as Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. Andrew Adamson will also return to direct the sequel.
In Prince Caspian, the Pevensie children are called back to the land of Narnia and discover that many years have passed since they were Kings and Queens there. Narnia has been conquered and the talking animals are in hiding. They must help Prince Caspian regain his throne.
The land of Narnia will most likely look very different from The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. Winter is long since vanished from the land and the landscape has changed over the many years, which explains why they are looking to shoot in Europe this time instead of New Zealand like last time.
It looks as though Andrew Adamson may also tackle the third Chronicle of Narnia, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader as well (though that isn’t confirmed).
The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe drew mixed reviews but was a big hit at the box office, I’m looking forward to what the sequel (which in some ways is a stronger story) will offer us.
