The Dead Zone Renewed for Sixth Season by USA Network

Contrary to previous reports (or perhaps they were just reported rumors), The Dead Zone did not end with season 5 (which aired this summer). USA Network has announced that it has picked up a sixth season of the science fiction show.

Season 6 of The Dead Zone will air on USA Network this summer with a run of 13 episodes. Anthony Michael Hall will return to his role as Johnny Smith, a man who suffered a near fatal car crash that put him in a six year long coma. When he wakes up, he finds he has psychic powers

The Dead Zone blends action, romance and the paranormal as Smith uses his psychic powers to see both the past and the future at a touch. The show has presented an multi-season backstory of Smith’s attempts to stop a horrific future that he is foreseen. But he can’t tell if his actions are making things better or making things worse.

When The Dead Zone premiered on the USA Network in June of 2002 it was the highest rated debut of an original drama series ever on USA Network and 5 years later the show remains one of the top rated series on basic cable.

Eoghann Irving is amongst other things the creator and Editor of Solar Flare. He has a life long interest in all forms of science fiction and fantasy and a pressing need to share this interest with anyone who will listen. Find out more at his personal website eoghann.com..
