The Fog Trailer Now Online

There’s a trailer online now for the remake of John Carpenter’s The Fog which stars Tom Welling (Smallville), Maggie Grace (Lost) and Selma Blair. The new version of The Fog is directed by Rupert Wainwright (Stigmata) from a script by Cooper Lane.

For those of you who haven’t seen the orginal, a horror film I’m rather fond of, The Fog is set in a Northern California town which is terrorized by an evil force as a fog drifts over the town. The films protagonists try to uncover the secret of the fog before its too late. According to Wainwright, this version of The Fog will delve further into the town’s past and explore some of the questions that were brought up, but never resolved in the original Carpenter film.

The trailer itself looks pretty good. There’s a certain amount of “generic horror film” to it, but there are also some really cool scenes there as well, particularly with the car underwater.
