The Night Stalker Pilot Gets Bad Review
Aint It Cool News has a review on the pilot of the new Night Stalker show and it isn’t pretty. In fact the review is so overwhelmingly negative I found myself hunting through it for anything positive at all. The Night Stalker is a new spin on the short lived series Kolchak The Night Stalker which starred Darren McGavin.
To be fair, some of the criticisms seem to boil down tot he fact that this time round they did it differently to the original series. Does it really matter for example that Kolchak works for The Beacon instead of the Independent News Service? Not really.
More damning is the reviewer’s claim that the characters are unappealing. He goes on to slam the acting as pedestrian and the relationship between the characters is bland. I’m still inclined to give the show a shot though as the reviewer comes across as just a little too attached to the original series to give a balanced review.
