Third Season of Doctor Who Already Confirmed

Outpost Gallifrey has a report that a third season of Doctor Who has already been announced. A second season for the show was announced almost immediately on the airing of the first season, but now with the final episode of Season One of Doctor Who this weekend, it seems the BBC are so confident of the show's success they have already comissioned a third season.

In addition to the third season, Doctor Who will have a Christmas specail for both 2005 and 2006. It seems that David Tennant whos is set to replace Christopher Eccleston in the role of the Doctor will be on board for both season two and three of the show. It's also looking as though Billie Piper will continue her role as Rose at least until the end of season two, which is contrary to previous reports.

Both season two and three of Doctor Who will have a further 13 episodes, which on top of the two Christmas specials gives a further 28 episodes of Doctor Who to look forward to.

Other details which have slipped out include the fact that we can expect to see Captain Jack in future episodes, Rose's boyfriend and her mother will make further appearances. But best of all it seems that the Cybermen will be making a return!
