Torchwood Filming Delayed
It seems that the Doctor Who spin off series Torchwood which will star John Barrowman in his role as Captain Jack Harkness has already run into some problems. Filming on Torchwood was planned to begin this January, but has been delayed.
Production is now expected to commence in the summer of 2006, most likely in either June or July but no firm date has been announced. If that wasn’t enough of a problem it seems that the schedule change has cost the show one of its producers. James Hawes was scheduled to produce some of the new series but has had to bow out now that production has been pushed back.
Torchwood is planned to be a very distant spin off from Doctor Who with a distinctly more adult edge to it. The only carry over character will be Captain Jack and once the series is established there will probably not be many Doctor Who references. No word yet if the production delay will effect when the series airs.

I hope this is the last of the bad news for Torchwood. I’m really looking forward to the show and it would suck if it were to fade away.

Yeah, I 2nd that. We need more Who on TV and Torchwood has the later time-slot to give some whoverse to the older crowd. One last thing. It better not suck!

If its as good as the newest series of Dr Who, we have a lot of good viewing to come. I think John Barrowman will do a wonderful job and I look forward to Torchwood.
At least his fans overseas will get to see him on TV.
