Transformers Movie Details Revealed By SciFi Wire

The SciFi Channel managed to get their hands on a heap of details about the Transformers live action movie that’s currently in production. As well as getting interviews with the cast and crew, SCI FI Wire got a good look at the disguised versions of several of the autobots and learned a few details about the movie’s plot

Apparently Ratchet is a search-and-rescue-vehicle, Ironhide is a GMC 4×4, Jazz is a Pontiac Solstice and Bumblebee is a Chevy Camaro prototype.

Michael Bay’s Transformers movie will apparently give some background about how the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons started. There will be five separate storylines throughout the movie that eventually converge to a final battle between the Autobots and Decepticons.

As previously noted, the movie will use a mixture of computer animation and large-scale puppetry for the Autobots and Decepticons themselves. There are some changes to the designs though. Megatron will be a plane, not a large gun as in the original cartoon.

Expect a full trailer for the movie during the 2006 holiday season. Transformers is aiming for a 4th of July 2007 release date.
