V For Vendetta Casting
In an interview with Empire Online, Steven Fry mentioned that he would be joined by John Hurt, Tim Pigott-Smith and Sinead Cusack in the movie version of V for Vendetta. James Purefoy, Natalie Portman and Stephen Rea round out the cast.
Fry is playing Gordon Deitrich, a chat show host who questions the authority of the people who run Britain. V For Vendetta is based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore and is being produced by the Wachowski brothers (Matrix) and directed by James McTeigue. Currently shooting in Berlin, a November release is planned for the film.
From the sound of things they have gathered a very impressive cast for this film. The names mentioned by Fry are all highly respected actors in Britain.
