Vernor Vinge Signs New Book Deal
Vernor Vinge, author of several modern science fiction classics has signed a multi-book deal with TOR books. Vinge will write three new novels and several of his out-of-print books will be re-issued. The first to be re-issued is the excellent Marooned in Realtime which was nominated for a Hugo Award.
Vinge’s first new novel under this contract is Rainbows End. Vinge has indicated that he expect the book to be finished within the next couple of months and for it to see publication in early 2006. Rainbow’s End is a sequel of sorts to Fast Times at Fairmont High. Once Vinge has finished Rainbows End he will turn his attention to a sequel to A Deepness in the Sky.
Personally I think this is great news. Vernor Vinge is one of my favorite science fiction authors and I’ve always been disappointed by how hard it is to find most of his books.
