Warners Working On ElfQuest Movie
According to the Hollywood Reporter Warner Brothers are working on movie adaptation of the cult comic series Elfquest. Rawson Thurber has been fingered to write, direct and produce the movie which will be based on the Richard and Wendy Pini books.
Originally self-published in 1978, the series follows a tribe of elves called the Wolfriders as they try to find other tribes of elves as well as interacting with tribes of humans and trolls. One of the first self-published comics series it tackled more mature themes than the mainstream comics of the time.
There have been several unsuccessful attempts to adapt the series either as an animated show or a movie. Currently there is no indication whether the movie will be animated or live action.

Rawson Thurber has previously written the screenplay for Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. He also wrote and directed The Mysteries of Pittsburgh.
In many ways Elfquest is perfect material for a big screen treatment. There is plenty of action and it would be relatively easy to adapt some of the early stories without having to cut out too much.
