Weinsteins Purchase Rights to Outlander Film
Twitch reports that the Weinsteins have purchased North American rights to Outlander, a sci-fi/horror film set in the Viking era. From their description it seems that its a sci-fi spin on the Beowulf legend.
A spaceship crashes near the Herot village. The only survivors are a warrior Kainan, and a deadly stowaway, Moorwen. The monster emerges from the water attacking and decimating a nearby village and Kainan sets out to destroy her.
