Will Paramount Bring Back Picard?
According to a report by British sci-fi magazine SFX, Patrick Stewart has held some serious talks about the possibility of another Star Trek: The Next Generation based Star Trek movie. This is a pretty major turn-about since Stewart had previously been saying that he thought the franchise was dead in the water.
Star Trek: Nemsis, the last time Stewart played the role of Captain Picard was a box office failure and that accompanied by the perceived failure of Star Trek: Enterprise appeared to have sealed Star Trek’s fate in the near future. Now though it seems that there are money men who want to see another Star Trek film.
However even assuming these talks do lead to something, don’t hold your breath. For right now Patrick Stewart is signed with the Royal Shakespeare company. He will be working with them for the next 16 months.
