Will Tom Hanks Be In Star Trek XI?
Sci-Fi Heaven is reporting an intriguing rumor that Tom Hanks might appear in the next Star Trek movie. The rumor apparently goes that Hanks has been penned in as a possible star if Erik Jendresen’s script is chosen for production.
While Hanks has worked with Erik Jendresen before for Band of Brothers, there is nothing to suggest that he has actually agreed to appear in a Star Trek movie. So even if this rumor is true it doesn’t mean we’ll actually see him in the movie.
Casting a big name star like Hanks in a Star Trek movie would be a radical departure for Paramount which has, up to now, relied on the Star Trek name and familiar faces from the tv series as selling points for the movies.
Of course with no current tv series to help promote a new movie and the last Star Trek movie having performed poorly at the box office, perhaps it is time for a new approach. Of course right now all of this is simply a rumor.

I can see it now. He plays a Starfleet investigator bent on disproving the existence of Zefram Cochrane.
