William Shatner Looking For The Next Sci-Fi Star
I’m pretty sure you’ll have read this one on every other sci-fi site that you visit, but I still want to post it anyway. William Shatner (Captain Kirk) is holding an online contest to find the most talented sci-fi personality in the United States.
Contestants have until September 30th to record a short video clip of themselves that proves they are the next sci-fi star and upload it to shatner.blip.tv
Visitors to the site can view the video clips and vote for their favorites. The ten highest ranked entrants will become the finalists and have the opportunity to win William Shatner’s Sci-Fi Challenge.
There are already several submissions available for viewing on the site, of vary quality and entertainment value. Given the publicity this thing is getting though, I’m hoping we’ll see some really creative stuff before the competition is over.
In case you thought the rules for this competition were two simple, there’s more. Seven celebrity judges will each be allowed to select one additional finalist, for a total of 17 finalists and William Shatner will then pick the winner from the 17 finalists.
